Lesbian Car Ad Too Hot for Italian Television

A racy commercial for the new Renault Twingo that features a playful, seductive scene between women has been banned by Italian television network executives. The 30-second commercial begins with two attractive women exchanging smoldering glances at a party before heading off to a bedroom, and ends with a surprise.

The commercial has outraged gay groups in Italy, with many claiming it is offensive to lesbians.

A spokeswoman for Publicis, the Milan-based agency that created the commercial, said, “We wanted to create an advert that was original, enjoyable and at the same time not vulgar and I believe we have achieved that.”
